Journalism in a Time of Disruption
SABEW’s 56th annual Spring conference will explore the many challenges – and opportunities – our industry faces today. Through skills session, keynotes and networking, we’ll help reporters and news managers do their jobs better and make sense of what’s happening in our industry. We look forward to seeing you at ASU’s casual campus setting in sunny Phoenix where you’ll get a chance to connect with colleagues old and new and ensure that business journalism continues to thrive.

Using Drones to Improve Your Stories

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Images and videos shot with a drone can add perspective and drama to routine stories as well as in-depth projects. You can spend thousands on equipment, but in many cases even an inexpensive hobbyist aircraft will provide great results. We'll explain the process needed to obtain the FAA license required to fly a drone for news gathering, and outline the Gannett drone program, which includes 60 pilots in two dozen markets. We'll show the DJI Inspire drone used by The Arizona Republic.

Room 252 – Cronkite classroom, located on the 2nd Floor of ASU’s Cronkite School, 555 North Central Ave., Phoenix.
